The types of data we collect & why

We use Google Analytics to monitor our website’s traffic and performance. When you visit www.islandbathrooms.co.uk we use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of our website and where visitors may have come from, for example if you’ve clicked on a link to our website via our Facebook page, our Instagram account, or one of our Google Ads. This data allows us to see how well our website is performing and which sources our website visitors are more likely to visit us from.
This information collected is only processed in a way which does NOT identify anyone. We can’t make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
We use Hotjar to monitor the activity on our website’s pages. When you visit www.islandbathrooms.co.uk we use Hotjar to collect data on standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of our website, which can tell us which parts of our website’s pages are performing well, and which parts of our website’s pages are clicked on the most. Hotjar also allows us to create Polls which visitors can vote on, for example, on how they found our website.
This information collected is only processed in a way which does NOT identify anyone. The Information gathered via polls, entered by our visitors, is anonymous and we will never ask for personal information which may identify you.
We use MailChimp as our marketing automation platform to deliver our email marketing campaigns. As part of the registration process for our marketing email campaigns we collect personal information, such as your name email address, via our email marketing sign-up forms. We use that information to send you marketing emails which contain: inspirational content and information about our sales and offers; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right, and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied with the marketing emails we send you.We also gather statistics around email opening and clicks, using industry standard technologies, to help us monitor and improve our email marketing campaigns.
We don’t rent or trade email lists with other companies and businesses. Emails given to our sales or administration team in-store, to be used for contact purposes regarding sales and orders, will NOT be added to our email marketing list.
We use Padiact to collect email subscriptions on our website and track the results to optimise email subscriptions. When someone visits www.islandbathrooms.co.uk we use Padiact to show them our email sign up form. We do this to ask new visitors, or returning visitors, if they’d like to subscribe to our email marketing list. Visitors can choose to enter their name and email on the sign-up form which then gets sent to MailChimp (our marketing email automation platform, which delivers our email marketing campaigns).
The personal information collected by Padiact is only processed in a way which does NOT identify anyone. Padiact never know who our visitors are, as they are not sent the data about who our visitors are.
Contact & enquiry forms
We use FormCraft to send and collect visitor enquiries and comments, which sometime requires the visitor to enter their name, email and other identifiable data, which is then sent to our administration team, sales team or marketing manager’s inbox. We do this to arrange design consultations between the visitor and our sales teams and reply to visitors regarding their enquiries made on our website.
Each form on our website presents a tailored agreement to inform the visitor about how the information, entered by the visitor, will be processed within our team. The visitor is required to read the agreement and acknowledge they’ve read the agreement to give permission for the form to be submitted to our administration team, sales team or marketing manager’s inbox. Regarding the Testimonial form, any information entered by the visitor may be published to our website. The visitor is required to read the agreement and acknowledge they’ve read the agreement to give us permission to upload and publish the information to our website. The information entered by the visitor in the testimonial form is anonymous and does not require the user to enter their full name or anything which may identify them.
Names, emails, comments, and other personally identifiable data, entered on any of our website forms, are NOT stored on our website, used for marketing purposes, or shared with a third party. If the agreement states that the form will be sent to our marketing manager, the contact details will only be used to verify or contact the visitor regarding their enquiry and will not be used for any other marketing purposes.
We use WP-SpamShield, an automated spam detection service, to check through visitor comments. We do this to protect our website from automated spam comments. When visitors leave comments on the site, specifically on our blog, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
You are entitled to have access to any personal information we hold about you; to view, amend, or request that we delete any personal information we hold about you.
